The position of Regional Credit Analyst II (on the branch side) is responsible for facilitating the underwriting and approval of large credits within the region.  This analyst works closely with both the lenders in the field as well as the financial analysts who report to the RCO and helps streamline the approval process and provide consistent underwriting on certain credits that exceed $1,000,000.  This position reports directly to the Regional President.  The analyst may also be required to take on high level projects involving credit review, budgeting or other detailed analysis. Incumbents in this position should have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a related field.


  • Takes information that the lending officers and Credit Analyst has prepared, and reviews for credit worthiness, adherence to credit standards and guidelines. 
  • Reviews the loan structure of the proposed loan. 
  • Assists loan officers in performing pre-qualifications assessment and analysis of financial condition and risk of requests within the framework of Bank credit culture and current economic and industries trends. 
  • Assists loan officers in preparing spreadsheets and analyzes financial information including financial statements and tax returns. 
  • Helps to develop continued education for lending personnel. 
  • Conducts industry peer comparisons, performs cash flow analyses and other such tasks and comparisons.
  • Develops knowledge of financial industry, economy, market conditions, rates and competition. 
  • Reinforces the application of superior customer service through his or her own example along with appropriate follow through with employees. 
  • Operates computer terminal or personal computer to obtain and process data.
  • Answers telephones, answers questions from lending officers. 
  • Performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned. 
  • Assists with on-going computerization of the loan review function. 
  • Assists in training sessions for the lending officers when needed.
  • Completes annual compliance courses.


  • Adheres specifically to all corporate policies and procedures.  Also adheres to Federal and State regulations and laws including the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed.

  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience should consist of duties in a business environment.       Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.


  • Intermediate knowledge of Bank operations, products and services; related state and federal laws and regulations, and other Bank operational policies and procedures.


  • Excellent organizational and time management skills ability to work with minimal supervision.


  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing, spreadsheet and specialty software programs.


  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions.

The environment for this position is an open office that is mostly clean and comfortable. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc. The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will.


The incumbent in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to approximately 25 pounds), carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.


The incumbent for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, copy and fax machines, adding machine (calculator), typewriter, computer terminal, personal computer and related printers.
